Started dabbling in photography at the age of eight by clicking school teachers and fellow students. Received tremendous encouragement from both parents (and spouse later)  without a faintest murmur of protest despite colossal waste of films etc due to unavailability of  proper guidance in the initial stages. No photographic classes, no proper guru. So much so, as my initial education was in Marathi, I was unable to read and comprehend foreign English photographic journals though they were available a plenty at that time (1955-58). I remember going thru' them page by page unable to understand a single word, staring at the illustrations and trying desperately to make sense of them. Joined Photographic Society of India, Mumbai in 1968 who in 1991 honoured me with their Associateship (APSI).

So far I have to my credit more than 700 awards and acceptances in Indian and international photographic salons and various competitions including two Gold Medals from USA, Honourable Ribbons in Belgium, Tokyo & Germany. This year I was awarded the D.C.Bachech Trophy by the Photographic Society of India for the Best Landscape. Was elected Hon. Secretary of the Photographic Society and thereafter took over teaching photography to aspiring photographers.
