Mitu Samar, Head Market Development & Communications, CRISIL Limited received the Promising Business Communicator award organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Mitu Samar is responsible for marketing and communication initiatives of Standard & Poor's (S&P) in South Asia.

Having worked with leading brand names like Aditya Birla Financial Services group, ICICI Prudential AMC and Great Eastern Shipping, she has an extensive experience of over a decade in branding and communications.

Prof. D. Udaya Kumar, Assistant Professor IIT Guwahati, Designer of Rupee Symbol, received the Communicator of the Year Award organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). D Udaya Kumar is a registered Architect under Council of Architecture, India. He started his career as a trainee architect when pursuing his graduation, at Sakthivel Associates, Chennai. He was assigned work on various housing projects. He then did his post-graduation summer internship at Tata Infomedia Pvt. Ltd. (today it is Infomedia India Pvt. Ltd.),Mumbai.

It was here that he got first-hand training on how to design printed matter for brochures, banners, and other publicity-related work. He duly impressed the seniors of the company with his a dept skills at designing, was later appointed as Senior Designer and eventually promoted to head the design team.

Mr. Piyush Pandey, Chairman O & M,Mumbai won the "Communicator of the Decade Award" organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). He joined Ogilvy & Mather in Mumbai in 1982. He was recently appointed as Vice-Chairman of Ogilvy Asia-Pacific.

Under his leadership, Oglivy & Mather has become the third largest advertising agency in India. In September 2006,Piyush Pandey, the Chairman and Creative Director of Ogilvy & Mather India,was nominated to the Ogilvy Worldwide Board. Due to his international acclaim,he is also the most recent 'Godfather' of the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, where he acts as a mentor to creative executives from around the world.

Mr Kumar Ketkar, Editor-in-Charge Loksatta,Mumbai won the "Excellence Business Journalism Award" organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Kumar Ketkar serves as the Chief Editor of Loksatta, the leading Marathi Daily of Indian Express Group.

Mr. Ketkar serves as the Senior Editor of Indian Express Newspapers (Mumbai) Ltd. Earlier; Mr. Ketkar served as the Editor-In-Chief, Lokmat and also Maharashtra Times, of The Times of India Group. Earlier, Mr. Ketkar was the Resident Editor, Daily Observer, of the Ambani Group, Reliance from 1990 to 1993.

Mr. M. V. Nair, Chairman & ManagingDirector, Union Bank of India, Mumbai, was awarded with the "Financial Marketing Communications Award" organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Nair joined Corporation Bank as a probationary officer in 1973. He was identified as a promising prospect for his business instinct and talent early on, and was offered the challenge to head and lead one of the biggest branches of the Bank in the capital city of New Delhi.

Nair built the SBU -CAPS (Collection and Payment Services) from scratch, setting up the team and branching out,launching innovative solutions to corporate customers. Nair also headed various departments at the corporate office including CAPS,Human Resources (HR), and Risk Management. He was subsequently elevated to Executive Director of Dena Bank.

Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Member Planning Commission, Government of India, New Delhi, was awarded with the "Excellence in Financial Communications Award" organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Dr. Narendra Jadhav, an Indian national is a leading educationist, eminent economist & policy maker, well-known social scientist and best-selling author.

Dr. Narendra Jadhav is currently serving asa Member, Planning Commission (in the rank and status of Union Minister ofState). He took over this responsibility on June 16, 2009 and was sworn in by the Prime Minister on July 27, 2009.

Dr. Dinesh Keskar, President Boeing India,New Delhi received the Global Business Communicator Award organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Dinesh Keskar was appointed vice president of Boeing International and president of Boeing India in March 2009.

He is responsible for representing the entire enterprise and for leading Boeing-wide efforts focused on expanding the company's local presence and pursuing new growth and productivity initiatives in India. He is based in New Delhi.

P. M. Sinha started as a Management Trainee in Esso Standard Eastern in India in Sales and Marketing and in 1969 joined Unilever India. He joined the Executive Board of Hindustan Lever Ltd., in 1981, and was the Chairman of Stephen Chemicals besides being on the Boards of Brooke Bond India Ltd., Lipton India Ltd., Lintas India, and Nepal Lever.

Mr. Gerson da Cunha , Noted Media Personality, Convenor AGNI, Mumbai received the Life Time Achievement Award organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Gersonda Cunha is an Indian stage and film actor, social worker, and author. Former advertising man, he has acted in numerous plays and movies such as Electric Moon (1992), Cotton Mary (1999), Asoka (2001), Water (2005), among others.

He is the Chief Executive of Bombay Firstand is now involved in various NGOs and citizen groups in Mumbai. He is a trustee of NAGAR and convenor of AGNI (Action for Good Governance and Networking for India).

Mr. Sam Pitroda, Advisor to Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations, New Delhi,received the Life Time Achievement Award organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Sam Pitroda is an inventor,entrepreneur and policymaker. He has served as Chairman of the National Knowledge Commission (2005-2008), a high-level advisory body to the Prime Minister of India, set up to give policy recommendations for improving knowledge related institutions and infrastructure in the country.

He has continued to redefine the role technology can play in a society like India by linking it to better delivery of services for the underprivileged in the country.

Mr. Vasant Sathe , Former Information &Broadcasting Minister, Government of India, New Delhi , received the Life Time Achievement Award organized by the Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI). Vasant Sathe was an Indian politician of the Indian National Congress party. He was a lawyer by training and became a parliamentarian in1972 and a cabinet minister during the 1980s. He was a socialist and came to prominence in the congress after Indira Gandhi split the party for a second time in 1978.

He was also known for his tenure as Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting when he initiated the process which led to Indian television moving into colour broadcasting for the Asian Games1984 and Hum Log the first colour Indian soap-opera.
